      History

Many people wander into Immanuel because they are drawn in by the small graveyard that surrounds the church. If they look a little closer, they’ll notice that many of the graves date from the 18th century. Observant visitors will see a number of Revolutionary War veterans buried there and a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.

– Matthew 13:52
