The Seamen’s Center of Wilmington, Delaware is located at the port there, and is an ecumenical, independent, nonprofit organization. Since 1990, it has offered a welcome haven to sailors, many of whom are at sea for months at a time. The Center provides phone lines, and helps seamen make phone calls or contact their families by e-mail. It also provides free transportation into the city as well as place to gather and play games or musical instruments.
